Recap: Explosion of a Dream 2022 Annual Scholarship Event
The time is NOW to celebrate the future of medicine!
We are ElevateMeD, a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2019 who is prioritizing physician workforce diversity, closing the gap of financial inequity in medical education, and empowering the next generation of physician leaders!
We were proud to present Explosion of a Dream weekend, September 23-24, featuring our second annual Scholars Summit and signature scholarship event, Explosion of a Dream. Both took place at The Scott Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona, where 300 guests and 23 ElevateMeD Scholars joined us from across the country! Through our raffles, live and silent auctions, and your generous giving, we have successfully raised over $300,000 for our ElevateMeD Scholars Program.
This year’s event highlights include:
An official proclamation for ElevateMeD Day on September 24, as presented by Mayor David Ortega of the City of Scottsdale;
Two special presentations including a $10,000 award to Briana Spell by Inspire Youth Enrichment Foundation and a $42,500 award presented to Shanice Walcott from the Bayless Family;
A special presentation presenting our second Breaking Barriers Award recipient, Dr. Wayne Franklin of Phoenix Children’s
A dynamic keynote address from Dr. Kalonji Cole, member of the 2020 inaugural cohort of ElevateMeD Scholars
