ElevateMeD Announcements and Updates

Congratulations to our Advisory Board Members on #Match2022!

When we decided to launch ElevateMeD, we knew it was vital for us to have the input and insights of current medical students.

In 2019, we were fortunate to have Sophia Ederaine and Johanny Lopez Dominguez join our Advisory Board, both talented students from the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine.  Their contributions to our organization are invaluable, as they’ve connected with our Scholars and helped us to launch programming and expanding our reach.

We were honored to celebrate with them this #MatchDay2022 , as they both learned about their residency upon graduation this Spring!

Join us as we congratulate both of these incredible women – the future of women in dermatology!

Congratulations, Sophia Ederaine

  • In the upcoming chapter, I look forward to… having the responsibility of taking care of my patients. I hope to connect with them and do what it takes to be a healing hand. Being a physician will be an honor of my life and I am forever grateful.

  • Working alongside ElevateMeD since its launch… has been surreal. From the first day we put on scrubs and took photos for the website to celebrating the second year of ElevateMeD scholars, I am thankful to be part of this incredible organization that is helping support physicians of color by decreasing the financial burden of medical school.

  • To other URM students on their journey (a word of advice)... remember that the fact you are on this path is an amazing accomplishment. You are incredible and will do great things for your future patients. Stay encouraged and feel free to reach out to me.

Congratulations, Johanny Lopez Dominguez

  • In the upcoming chapter, I look forward to… learning how to be the best version of myself to prepare myself for a career of service. I want to continue giving back, carrying out the legacy of the mentors that have made my journey possible.

  • Working alongside ElevateMeD since its launch… has been a transformative experience because it has allowed me to see how much could be accomplished with an organization and supporters who have a shared mission. It has allowed me to see the difference that resources and support make in helping students succeed and reach their potentials.

  • To other URM students on their journey (a word of advice)... is to cherish the journey and remember that what has brought you this far will carry you forward to the next phase of your life.
