Shelby Snyder was inspired to pursue medicine by watching her father integrate cultural knowledge with Western medicine. She now aspires to embody that same spirit as a future provider, serving Native communities as an uplifting and empowering presence.

Undergraduate Education: Dartmouth College in Molecular Biology & Native American Studies
Current Career Plan: Serve Indigenous communities and find ways to incorporate Indigenous knowledges in my medical practice.
Specialty Interest: OB/GYN
I am most proud of building spaces for community gathering and expanding Indigenous support networks.
You might be surprised to know that I dance fancy shawl at powwows (Indigenous cultural gatherings) and have been dancing since I could walk!
ElevateMeD is… uplifting underrepresented voices to improve the culture of medicine whether in academic, clinical, or community settings.
