Hometown: Nashville, Tennessee
Medical Education: Duke University School of Medicine
Undergraduate Education: Vanderbilt University in Medicine, Health, and Society
Current Career Plan: Work as a primary care pediatrician in an underserved community similar to the one I grew up in. I strive to make a lasting impact and to help bridge health disparities on a larger scale through health equity research, community-engaged work, and public health leadership. As a Nigerian American, I am deeply passionate about improving outcomes for those on the margins of the healthcare system, both in the United States and abroad.
Specialty Interest: Pediatrics
I am most proud of the fact that my journey in medicine has not been easy. As a first-generation medical student, I have faced challenges at every step along the way. What I am most proud of is my resilience. Through each obstacle, I have continued to persevere, trusting in God’s purpose for my life and the path He has set before me in medicine.
You might be surprised to know that I come from a large family and have over 60 first cousins. Community and family mean everything to me!
ElevateMeD is… a community that invests in medical students whose experiences and perspectives help strengthen representation in medicine not only financially, but also through intentional mentorship, leadership development, and a strong sense of belonging. ElevateMeD recognizes that becoming a physician requires more than academic success—it requires guidance, affirmation, and access to people who believe in your potential. To me, ElevateMeD represents being seen, supported, and poured into in a way that helps students grow into physicians who are committed to serving their communities and advancing health equity. ElevateMeD is opportunity, community, and support.
