Adurape "Ayo" Osunjimi shares the stories that inspired him to pursue a career in medicine, experiences that shed light on the real-life financial barriers that impact access to care, and plans to mitigate these challenges by providing resources and compassionate care.
Hometown: Nigeria, and grew up in Lancaster, Texas (Dallas)
Medical Education: UT Southwestern Medical School
Undergraduate Education: UT Austin in Biology
Current Career Plan: Pursue internal medicine residency followed by a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine to become an intensivist.
Specialty Interest: Internal Medicine
I am most proud of being invited back to my former high school as a keynote speaker to address the rising senior class and their families, where I had the opportunity to motivate them to pursue their dreams and remain committed to serving their community.
You might be surprised to know that I love experimenting with food combinations, most of which somehow involve Nutella.
