DR. Abigail Solorio, 2022 ElevateMeD Scholar
Abigail Solorio is an Arizona native and first-generation physician. Born and raised in Phoenix, her upbringing greatly influenced her commitment to improving healthcare access and outcomes for all individuals. She graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson with degrees in Neuroscience, Physiology and Psychology, received a Master’s degree in Medical Studies and completed her medical education at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix. Passionate about bringing her personal experiences to her profession she helped develop a Medical Spanish curriculum at her institution, served with the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and was among the first to be awarded the Primary Care Physician Scholarship, a full tuition award for students committed to practicing primary care in underserved communities.
Most recently she matched into her number one residency choice at Georgetown University where she now practices Family Medicine in Washington, DC. Her passion to provide equitable healthcare to marginalized populations drives her work and advocacy. She is committed to delivering compassionate, culturally competent care and uplifting the community she serves.
